I visited the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum in Las Cruces. The sprawling 47-acre campus offers a fascinating look into the 4,000-year history of farming and ranching in the region. It is a wonderful place for families or anyone interested in the cultural evolution of the Southwest. While the grounds are well-maintained and the livestock exhibits were a highlight, my visit was unfortunately a bit limited. I was disappointed to find that a couple of the exhibits were closed to the public during my time there. Most notably, the farm greenhouse was off-limits, which was one of the features I was most looking forward to exploring. Despite these closures, the indoor and outdoor portions of the museum still made the trip worthwhile. I would definitely recommend checking their current exhibit schedule or calling ahead before your visit to ensure the specific areas you want to see are open.

I guess if you are interested in farming or ranches you would enjoy this museum. I enjoyed the historical aspect, displays detailing the changes in farming from the earliest occupants of the land to the present. As seniors, admission for the two of us was only $6 each. For that price it was worth the visit. I'm not sure that I would have wanted to spend much more than that on it.

Cool spot lots to learn. Loved learning more about Billy the Kid and NM frontier history. The animals were great too, though when I went in March they only had sheep and cattle. Staff were super nice!

Nice place to visit. Took my brother and his daughter. They enjoyed the simple tour of us walking around. I would recommend this for everyone. Learning about the history of farming and how far back farming went and the importance of farming. Nice people. Clean facilities. Wish more people would funnel through here, great learning βfield tripβ.

Great place to visit with the family. We loved the exhibits. They also have many areas to visit outside so I recommend coming early when it is not too hot.
